In this clip of 'The Mummy', Rick is about to be hanged and Evelyn is trying to bargain with the Egyptian man in charge about letting him go.

The sound for this clip is diegetic to the scene, you have the noises of the the crowd cheering wanting them to hang him and over that you can hear Evelyn and The Boss bargaining to let him go, this shows in this particular situation she has the power and is saving the Hero, this is unusual for Action Adventure conventions. When they hang Rick you hear the added sound of a drum over the sound of the rope being pulled after that the music intensifies to show the seriousness of the situation and the music gets faster when Evelyn is tricking The Boss into freeing Rick.

The mise en scene for this clip is very low key, there is nothing added that would not be there if this scene was natural, for example there is the Hero that is about to be hung, there is Evelyn and The Boss bargining for the Heroes life, a Gallows in the centre surrounded by all the local people and guards to make sure everything goes right this adds a sense of drama. The building the audience are watching from is shaped like an amputheatre to show is it like a show however it also shows a sense of desperation.

The camera work in this clip is used in different ways for example, when you see Evelyn and The Boss talking they use a high angle on the hero which is unusual, this is because the hero is supposed to be strong and in this particular shot he is shown to be weak and without power, when Evelyn and The Boss are bargining there is a shot reverse shot, there is also a pan around the audience to show how many people there are to show they want him to die and he will not escape.

The editing in this clip is simple, one edit is when Evelyn and The boss are bargaining they used shot reverse shot in fast pace to show the urgency of the situation and his life is on the line.
