The two comedies’ we have chosen are Room 101 and Benidorm
‘Room 101’ was originally first broadcasted in 1994, it was originally a radio show until later moved to BBC 2 until 2007 then came back in 2012 but on BBC 1. I believe the target audience is 34 – 50 will be at home 8:00 after work.
‘Benidorm’ was first broadcasted Thursday 1 February 2007 it would be believed the target audience will have finished work and have had there supper and be looking for something sober and relaxing.
‘Room 101s’ target audience is different to ‘Benders’ the audience fall into the A, B, C category as it is a more family friendly and before 9 o’clock whereas ‘benidorm’ fall into the C, D, E category as they might find the humor funnier as it is make a joke out of the lower class and will find it easier to keep up with.
Both programs are successes in their niche audience categories as ‘Room 101’ has stayed on BBC 1 and ‘benidorm’ has stayed on itv.
